  • David Egner was named executive director of the New Economy Initiative in 2009. Under Egner’s leadership the New Economy Initiative has targeted grant making to capitalize on existing regional assets and resources, to build and employ a more skilled and educated workforce, and to promote a successful entrepreneurial ecosystem, In addition, Egner continues to serve as president and CEO of the Hudson-Webber Foundation, a position he has held since 1997.

  • Katie Brisson is senior program officer for the New Economy Initiative where she is responsible for monitoring due diligence and evaluation processes and providing oversight of communications efforts.

  • Karen Chassin Goldbaum joins the Community Foundation as communications officer. She supports the Community Foundation’s education and information activities and provides communications and marketing support to the New Economy Initiative.

  • Carol Davis serves as administrative assistant to the New Economy Initiative. She joined the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan in 1999 and has supported many special projects and initiatives, including the African-American Legacy Program, the Comerica Bank Economic Development Fund, the J.P. McCarthy Fund, the Youth Initiative and Touch the Future.
  • Pamela Hurtt is a senior consultant to the New Economy Initiative responsible for helping the NEI team to build a network of high technology commercialization and business acceleration services within southeast Michigan

  • Donald Jones is senior consultant to the New Economy Initiative, responsible for helping the NEI team to build opportunities for entrepreneurs in the region.

  • Sam Singh is senior consultant to the New Economy Initiative. He is also a senior policy consultant with Public Policy Associates in Lansing. In his role with NEI, Singh will be responsible for working on workforce development strategies and leveraging NEI’s work with state and federal entities.
