About Kurt Metzger
Kurt Metzger joined City Connect Detroit in November 2008 with the task of creating and directing a new data entity – initially called the Detroit-Area Community Information System (D-ACIS) – recently renamed Data Driven Detroit, or D3. Kurt has previously held posts with the United States Census Bureau, where he served as Director of Information Services, covering Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia; Director of Wayne State University’s Michigan Metropolitan Information Center (MIMIC) and Research Director for the Center for Urban Studies. Most recently he was the Research Director for the United Way for Southeastern Michigan. Having spent the last 30+ years in metropolitan Detroit, Kurt is a well-known and prominent figure on the data scene.
Strategic investments and regional collaboration are helping the New Economy Initiative and partner organizations promote economic revitalization in southeast Michigan.
